Dying to Self

Looking up to heaven, soul in search of God,
So hidden seems forbidden, why this path we trod?

And death upon a cross, why not king and power?
Salvation from the Jews, why the place and hour?

Proof of love the answer, from city to the mountain
So all of history's future may share eternal fountain

No greater love is given, than death of self for man
We live by your example, and die the best we can
